Charlotte Harding

Charlotte’s clients have included Sky, Gumtree UK, Benefit Cosmetics UK, BBC, Discovery Music Source and ITV. She scored Very’s 2015 Christmas advert, which was voted ‘Ad of the Week’ by the creative department of advertising magazine ‘The Drum’. More recently, she co-scored the BBC/OSF wildlife documentary ‘Ingenious Animals’ which was aired on BBC One.
Charlotte Harding graduated from the Royal College of Music, London with a first class honours degree having studied composition with Mark-Anthony Turnage and saxophone with Martin Robertson. Charlotte has worked with leading ensembles and soloists and has received performances of her work worldwide. In 2013, she was selected to be a part of Sound and Music’s, ‘Embedded’ programme and subsequently wrote the chamber work ‘Stride’ for Ensemble 10/10 (Liverpool Philharmonic Orchestra) which received an Honorary Commendation from the George Butterworth Panel. She remains a prolific composer for the saxophone having written works for Richard Ingham (‘Kanic’, released on his album ‘Notes From a Small Country’), Alistair Parnell (‘Tinto’ for EWI, premiered at the Notting Hill Saxophone Festival) and Flotilla (‘Elegy’, performed at the World Saxophone Congress, 2012). Her soprano saxophone concerto ‘Voyage’ (published by Reed Music) continues to receive performances by leading saxophonists including Gerard McCrystal. In 2015, Charlotte has been involved with numerous artistic collaborations. Her recent project ‘Over 100 Years of Women and the Saxophone’ with saxophonist Amy Green, was launched at the World Saxophone Congress in Strasbourg in July 2015 and was subsequently featured in the RCM’s ‘International Women’s Day’ celebrations the following March. This project highlights and celebrates the women who have been pioneers of the saxophone and its repertoire. (For project updates, please see @Saxophone_Women). Charlotte was also invited to be the lead composer for ‘Britten; An Exploration’, a collaboration with the RCM and graphic artist Jo Lewis. The project culminated in several new works and the unveiling of Lewis’ artwork in the Britten Theatre, RCM.. Charlotte continues to be composer-in-residence with Box 9 Drumline – her pieces having been performed at the NFL Fan Rallies on Regent Street and at Wembley Stadium.
